Chris Moorehead 🇨🇦🇺🇦🇬🇱RIP Kevan Staples. Growing up in North Bay in the late 1970s, I remember the first time I ever heard Rough Trade on the radio — it was "What's All the Furor About the Führer?" from Avoid Freud. To me, it was like hearing music from another planet (my first thought was "WTF is THIS?"), and it sent me into a punk/post-punk phase of my life that I've never left. I've lost track of the number of times I saw Rough Trade live (including their very last show) or Carole Pope solo (the latest being last fall in Stratford).
