MightyBigCarReports are that at noon today there were 5000 people at <a href="https://montereybay.social/tags/HandsOff" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#HandsOff</a> <a href="https://montereybay.social/tags/SantaCruz" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#SantaCruz</a> and 400 people in <a href="https://montereybay.social/tags/Watsonville" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Watsonville</a> . That's about 2% of the total county population, and doesn't account for (a) small protests in small towns like the dozen people in <a href="https://montereybay.social/tags/BoulderCreek" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#BoulderCreek</a> or (b) people were coming and going from the larger events the whole time. I can't even guess how many in total actually participated, but regardless: Way To Go, <a href="https://montereybay.social/tags/SCruz" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#SCruz</a>!

Bo MorganWent out to the Hands Off protest today in Santa Cruz. I heard rumors that it's the largest protest in Santa Cruz ever. They announced there were 8,000 people there.There was lots of good signage. Don't have a crowd estimate yet, but the plaza and parking lot was filled and folks lined neighboring streets. Lots of honking and waving. Excellent vibe, too - cheerful peaceful pissed-off people.*
