@ZLabe but of course. How else can you further #ClimateDenial if you don't start ripping down the #scientific #institutions to solidify such denial?

Next up, make some fake private foundation, call it "Foundation for Climate Truths", and then have it funded by the petrol lobby.

Then, and this is keen: you crash the economy, vilify immigration, so that when #ClimateRefugees come a'knocking, you've already cultivated the #xenophobia necessary to distract people.

Check mate, #liberals 😎

The lawsuit chronicles a monthslong effort to chip away at #HHS’s functions, leading up to a policy memo released on March 27, which “collapsed 28 agencies into 15” & shuttered half of its regional offices across the country.

Among other changes, the policy memo highlighted #RFKJr’s goal of refocusing the dept’s core #scientific functions on “ending America’s epidemic of chronic illness by focusing on safe, wholesome food, clean water, & the elimination of environmental toxins.”

No shit Sherlock.

Cutting federal #funding for #scientific #research could cause long-run #economic damage equivalent to a major #recession, acc/to a new study from American University.
In recent months, the #Trump admin has sought to cancel or freeze billions of dollars in #grants to scientists at #Columbia, #Harvard & other #universities, & has moved to sharply curtail funding for #academic #medical centers & other institutions.

#Trump has targeted #scientific #research in several areas in sweeping government job cuts to curtail what it calls *wasteful* spending, including at the #NIH, #EPA & the #NOAA.

The #climate assessment was a target of #Project2025, the right-wing #HeritageFoundation-written policy blueprint that has helped shape some of Trump's policies.

Project 2025's chapter on scientific agencies said the #NCA should be reshaped to ensure contributors are better scrutinized.

Hi! I'm a new #SciComm member.

I'm currently finishing my MSc in #Environmental #Economics at UCPH. My #research focuses on incorporating learning-by-doing and site-scarcity effects into #renewableenergy #policy design. Broadly, my interests lie in quantitative research around #sustainability.

On my profile, you'll mostly find content related to my #scientific interests and policy discussions in these areas. My own posts will likely share insights from my #academic journey.
