Delta Chat<p>Public service announcement: </p><p>1. If you want to link your <a href="https://chaos.social/tags/Fediverse" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Fediverse</span></a> profile to a chat account please consider just saying "DM me for <a href="https://chaos.social/tags/deltachat" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>deltachat</span></a> invite link" and NOT PUBLISH it to "all". </p><p>2. If you do publish invite links to groups and so on, please consider doing it with a dedicated delta chat profile that is not your private profile. Multi-Profile for the win.</p><p>3. We want to evolve the <a href="https://chaos.social/tags/securejoin" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>securejoin</span></a> invite link UX to better prevent unsafe practises. Involves tons of considerations. 💜</p>
Delta Chat<p>Isn't it poetic and ironic that out of all possible time lines we are in one where <a href="https://chaos.social/tags/securejoin" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>securejoin</span></a> <a href="https://chaos.social/tags/openpgp" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>openpgp</span></a> protocols on top of the existing <a href="https://chaos.social/tags/email" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>email</span></a> protocols offer the arguably most solidly scaling, useable, world-wide federated end-to-end encrypted messaging reality, safe against compromised <a href="https://chaos.social/tags/mitm" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>mitm</span></a> servers? Hundreds of billions spend to create "the email successor" and here we are in 2025 .... <a href="https://chaos.social/tags/interoperable" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>interoperable</span></a> <a href="https://chaos.social/tags/email" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>email</span></a> and <a href="https://chaos.social/tags/cryptography" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>cryptography</span></a> as the tortoise looking at Achilles through the back mirror :)</p>
Delta Chat<p><span class="h-card" translate="no"><a href="https://nerdculture.de/@obsoleszenz" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">@<span>obsoleszenz</span></a></span> <span class="h-card" translate="no"><a href="https://mastodon.social/@mntmn" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">@<span>mntmn</span></a></span> actually security is stronger with <a href="https://chaos.social/tags/securejoin" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>securejoin</span></a> protocols but Minute already said primary concern is not security. So if it's down to usability and versatility and reliability then trying out delta for your comms might indeed be worthwhile. There also are <a href="https://chaos.social/tags/webxdc" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>webxdc</span></a> apps which can be good for a shared calendar, checklists or shared notes in any chat. Happy to answer any questions as several of us are following your MNT project with interest.</p>
