I'm so happy with how these new prints turned out! This might be my favorite, from this batch. To create these, I scanned my hand-drawn pieces and then printed on fine art paper. All done locally, here in San Francisco.

Curious about the economics of selling 3d prints. Clearly there are many people selling prints on Etsy and eBay. If I opened a b&m shop where customers could customize prints themselves with easy to use iPad kiosk apps, get the item printed right then and there, wait for the print in a chill space, or get notified via sms, is that appealing? Customers wouldn’t interact with the printers, just customize the designs. Prices would likely be competitive assuming the printers and prints have high success rate. I don’t think even the best consumer printers are for everyone, but for technically minded folks it’s gotten much easier. Would this idea be following in the footsteps of Kinkos and other now defunct 2d print shops? The internet mostly killed the need for paper printers. Physical goods have legit use cases that don’t go away.

Local bakery: "I sold out of the first run of bread, next run is too hot to touch, but you can have a free bicky if you don't mind waiting a few minutes."
Was a good biscuit.

Hello ^__^
I added a tiny (A5) print of my illustration „City Whales“ (from my children's book „Fox of Friendship“) to my shop, slowly working through my backlog …
Boycott U.S. products / services
My partner noted black tarps covering U.S. wines was removed - shelved items replaced with non-American products.
I was initially worried (when she told me) that the U.S. products were back ... NOPE! ️

Busy day today, but I still managed to sneak into St. Paul and Barely Bros Records for #RecordStoreDay. While places like the Electric Fetus and Urban Lights music had DJs advertised, I got to browse while the live band did their sound check. Despite it being PACKED, I did manage to find a couple of #minnesota local bands.
Canadians are now, due to misleading labeling used by American manufacturers, using apps on their phone that can scan a product's barcode and identify where it's from. If the product is identified as American, the app suggests Canadian alternatives. The apps currently available are: Maple Scan, Buy Canadian, Is This Canadian? and Shop Canadian.

It has been clear for a while now that we’re going to need to support each other to get through this. And now that literally trillions have been lost from our economy that will take years (if not decades) to repair, it’s clear we’re going to need to do it monetarily, too.
I urge you to modify your purchasing paths and maybe commit to supporting your local businesses, artisans, and local charities whenever you can.
I know it’s not always feasible or realistic to say “Boycott this chain forever!” or “This man is evil, don’t support him!” Sometimes they’re unavoidable.
BUT. You can mitigate their impact. It is with in your power to make small shifts. To develop new habits. To try new things. To choose not to use Amazon or big-chain stores once in a while. To choose to go out of your way every now and then to pay a little more in order to support your neighbor’s business. To donate your coffee creamer money to charity one week and use milk and sugar instead.
I’m not saying shift your life to make completely new purchasing choices. I am asking you to try opening yourself up to your community and valuing things in a different way more often than you may be doing.
There are many more broke folks out there than not. Many more small businesses than not. And those local connections appreciate your business more than those other folks will ever do.
LOOK AT THIS! MAGAts add their businesses to this site to attract bigots & I am delighted to find this map of business to avoid!
