The Nelson #staircase is one of the best know features of #SomersetHouse. Part of it was used as the hq of the Royal Navy when it was built.

On the tour of #SomersetHouse, they take you down to the light wells that run round the buildings that face the inner square. They provided light for the early offices and now get used as film locations for Victorian alleys.

I recently went on a tour of #SomersetHouse - a #Georgian building built as government offices and now an arts/cultural centre. It has fantastic staircases.
