I spent some time in prison. In addition to many letters, it was books that enabled me to survive. Books open up new spaces for us, allow us to look into previously unknown worlds. Books allow us to enter these worlds, broaden our horizons and meet people both living and dead. Whether novels, non-fiction and specialist literature, poetry and much more. Life, my life, would be poorer if there were no books.

but a drop-in space with phone & laptop access, and the budget to hire (and encouragement of "people with experiences of houselessness & extreme poverty" to apply), and what looks like simply the long-term outlook to support while helping

that is a dream
