On #ThisWeek...

Steph-O: "This is only going to raise prices."

Priebus: "This [#tariffs] is just a negotiating strategy. Countries will now come to the table and negotiate trade deals to eliminate the tariffs."

Steph-O: "But that won't bring jobs back to the United States!"

#TrumpExplainers just make it up as they go along. They HAVE to come up with a rational explanation for why T**** keeps doing stupid stuff to keep the myth alive. 🤦‍♂️ #DisasterPresidency

#DisasterDonnie's chief Economic Advisor Kevin Hasset on #ThisWeek just tried to claim the reason #Russia was excluded from T****'s blanket #tariffs was b/c "we are in the middle of peace negotiations between them & #Ukraine, and you don't impose anything new in the middle of a negotiation."

Ukraine is included among Trump's 10% blanket #tariff on all countries. #LyingBastard #DisasterPresidency #tariffs kyivindependent.com/difficult-

Apart from a sleepless night on Monday I have to say that #ThisWeek Is going pretty well.

The cat is registered. The big financial decision is made (but no money spent yet).

There's new issues with our daughter (hence the sleep deprivation) but they are financial, and I think there's a plan - even a good plan, but we need to involve professionals to advise on it.

#Today will involve a lot of driving. We've got a family get-together in Cambridgeshire. We're seeing Kasa and Sacha's sister's family (who we agree can be hard work). A big table has been booked in a random pub. The location was chosen for it's centrality for all of us!

The weather is looking promising.

Keep your collective peckers up freinds!

It's the start of what's going to be a busy week for us.

Although today is routine enough I've got to go food shopping at the local coop, tomorrow weve got to make a big financial decision and move some money around.

On Wednesday we've got a family get-together in St Neots in Cambridgeshire - we're meeting up with Sacha's sister, her husband and two sons, and Kasa is coming too - it'll be a lot of driving (they are the 'odd' side of the family - not us).

Thursday afternoon it's picking up our grandson from school, but mum will be home to cook a roast dinner for us all.

Friday will be a chance to catch up with ourselves!

I expect your week will be a fair bit less frantic - so enjoy it!

Chris Christie made an interesting point on #ThisWeek:

"During his first term, T**** was surrounded by experienced professionals who were willing to say 'No' to him." When it was discovered his Nat'l Security Advisor Mike Flynn had lied in his confirmation, he was gone by Feb 18th. And I think T**** now thinks that was a mistake he won't repeat by firing Waltz & Hegseth, and there's no one around him telling him he should."

This time, he surrounded himself with "Yes Men".

[09:47] Zelensky and Putin agree limited ceasefire, but implementation work in progress

Ukraine and Russia agreed in principle to a limited ceasefire after US President Donald Trump spoke with the countries’ leaders this week, although it remains to be seen when it might take effect and what possible targets would be off limits to attack.

[09:34] Russia doesn’t want ceasefire: But with a pro-Putin Trump, why would it?

In case there was any doubt about which country - Russia or Ukraine - was the obstacle to peace, the Kremlin dispelled it this week with its response to the 30-day ceasefire plan pushed by the Trump administration. Ukrainian representatives unconditionally agreed on Tuesday to the ceasefire during a meeting with U.S. envoys in Saudi Arabia. But on Thursday, Russian President Vladimir Putin turned down the U.S. overture - even if he did so in language designed not to offend President Donald Trump.
