Has anyone walked even a short part of the Kumano Kodo in Japan?
I’m planning a short hike (max 2 hours) on one of the main routes—just to experience it a bit.
Any tips on which trail to choose, how to get there, or if it's worth it even for just 1–2 days?

Gestern und heute war ich zu Fuß im Raum Mengen/Sigmaringen unterwegs, um anhand der spärlichen Hinweise ohne Buchung zwei Trekkingplätze zu finden (ich selbst habe auf dem Campingplatz genächtigt). Den #Trekkingplatz Räuberlager konnte ich gestern finden. Zu meiner Überraschung war er in Sichtweite zweier Hochsitze 
und von einem tracktype=grade2-Weg aus sichtbar.
Wenn ich daheim bin und meinen Garmin ausgelesen habe, werde ich ihn in #OpenStreetMap eintragen.

Today I received a mail from Mountain Maps, yet another hiking map platform, heavily sponsored here in Italy, to inform me that they, cue for drum rolls here, decided to create an AI assistant in-app.

Let me be clear.
The app is far from being complete, it's missing most of the QoL functionalities and still doesn't have a web UI to help plan a route with precision.
BUT it has now an AI assistant. Which, I won't use, even though I bought a Premium lifetime license back when they started developing it, because hiking and planning a route is far too complex and dangerous to let AI do that for me.
I'm also sad that AI was nowhere to be found in their initial roadmap and now they swayed picking up a function that might be even dangerous for people, maybe to get more funds or whatever.

Teilweise Alternative zu Komoot
Ich habe gerade in einem anderem Thread einen Beitrag über #Wanderer gefunden. Sieht für mich ziemlich ähnlich aus wie #Komoot, ist #OpenSource, kann man also selber hosten, oder eine der schon bestehenden Instanzen nutzen.
Zwar nutzt die Software noch nicht das #ActivityPub Protokoll, föderation zwischen verschiedenen Instanzen ist also noch nicht möglich, aber ein Featurerequest gibt es schon und der Entwickler ist dem nicht abgeneigt.
Hier geht es zu dem Projekt und auf #tchncs gibt es auch schon eine laufende Instanz:
Die Software steht zwar noch am beginn der Entwicklung, sieht aber bis jetzt gar nicht mal so schlecht aus.
Vielleicht ist das ja auch was für dich @pedalieri, ich werde mich da auch mal anmelden und in nächster Zeit mal was hochladen.
