The cycle-path for the last few km towards Bourtange has been resurfaced recently. Lovely smooth asphalt which we appreciated. Unfortunately that water tower didn't have a tap on it, so we couldn't refill bidons (which were getting low in the hot weather today). The last photo shows a part of a perhaps ill advised rural route which I took home after saying goodbye to the others.
On arrival on our driveway my bike computer said exactly 130.00 km.
A nice day's cycling.

Lovely smooth new asphalt on a cycle-path.
Rather a nice watertower in Stadskanaal. But no-where that I could refill my nearly empty bidons.
Bumpity bumpity bump along this very very rural cyclepath. I've not gone this way in many years and thought I should check it out. It's really only suitable for two wheelers, and then only in the summer when it's dry (which it was today).

Various overtaking videos...
A certain segment of the Dutch cycling brotherhood would have palpitations at seeing three scourges of the cycle-path at the same time (racing bike, fatbikes and velomobiles !). We had no problem with each other, though.
Theo nearly got stopped by the feds.
Harry and I had to overtake this tractor and moped on the way home.

Cyclepath with three velomobiles coming up behind two fatbikes while a cyclist on a road bike comes in the opposite direction. It's a relatively narrow cycle-path by Dutch standards, in a rural area where it's not normally very busy. But despite that we had no problems with each other.
I hope that's an approving hand gesture from one of the fatbike riders. Does anyone here understand youth culture ?

I've been a little distracted with broad-spectrum DIY, but the British Human Power Club racing season kicks off at #Hillingdon on Saturday. Registrations close at midday tomorrow.

Our events are open to anyone over the age of 12, on anything that's human-powered and meets a minimal set of safety requirements.
