ThomSo, die Schafe haben nach dem Unwetter den Stall wieder verlassen und sind endlich draussen auf der Weide. Im <a href="https://swiss.social/tags/Saastal" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Saastal</a> sind bereits die ersten Wolfsrisse verzeichnet worden; zwei Schafe weiter südlich, bei Eisten. Wir sind mal gespannt, wie lange es dauert, bis es in unserem Dorf auch wieder losgeht. ThomVögel und Bienen haben es auch schwer zum Überleben. Es strahlt die Sonne, es ist sehr warm jetzt. Dementsprechend stark taut es auch. Hof LochstadolSeht ihr den Zaun im ersten Bild? Wir auch nicht. Niedergedrückt und verschluckt vom Schnee... Wir konnten ihn aber in recht anständigem Zustand ausgraben. Viele Helikopter waren unterwegs, einmal beim hochgucken: "oh der hat einen Esel am Seil..." Die waren wohl auf einer entlegenen unzugänglichen Frühlingsweide verblieben. Was für ein Glück, dass die Tiere geholt werden konnten... Grad vor kurzem hatten wir noch etwas gelacht und uns an den <a href="https://swiss.social/tags/Schnee" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Schnee</a> erinnert, aber heute war‘s doch sehr speziell mit dem <a href="https://swiss.social/tags/Unwetter" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Unwetter</a> im <a href="https://swiss.social/tags/Wallis" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Wallis</a>. Innerhalb weniger Stunden vom Dauerregen (gestern) zu über 60cm Schnee im Tal auf rund 620müM. Freude dran hatten nur die <a href="https://swiss.social/tags/HomeOffice" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#HomeOffice</a> Arbeitenden und die Kids ohne Schule. Was mein Herz aber absolut bluten lässt sind die Bäume - soooooo viele geknickt, geköpft und Äste abgebrochen… 😭💔 und morgen sollen dann wieder 16°C sein!?

ThomGuten Tag, der April macht bekanntlich, was er will... Hier am Eingang zum Saas- und Mattertal im Wallis schneit es seit gestern Abend unaufhörlich. Wir haben bald einen Meter Neuschnee. ThomDer Balfrin Gipfel mit dem Balfringletscher im letzten Sonnenlicht des Tages. Wir waren auf der gegenüberliegenden Talseite unterwegs und das Abendlicht hat die eingefrohrenen und vergletscherten Bergflanken in magisches Licht getaucht. Die Wolken über den Gipfeln haben ihre Schatten über die Szene gestreut und so hat sich das Balfrin-Massiv in seiner ganzen Schönheit gezeigt. Wer genau hinschaut, der kann im Vordergrund noch die Seetal-Bergstation, unterhalb des Seetalhorns, vom Skigebiet in Grächen erkennen. --- The Balfrin summit in the last sunlight of the day. We were on the opposite side of the valley and the evening light bathed the frozen and glaciated mountain flanks in magical light. The clouds above the peaks scattered their shadows across the scene, revealing the Balfrin massif in all its beauty. TimAnother "Interrailing through Switzerland" post: a long trip awaited me on Friday: I took the Glacier Express from Zermatt via Brig, Andermatt, Disentis/Mustér and Chur to Tiefencastel, changed to regional trains and ended up in Davos where I stayed for another two nights. The ride on the Glacier Express was comfy and often scenic, but sadly the fog around the Oberalppass prevented me from taking pictures. At Davos I tried cross-country skiing, which I havent't done since being a small child. After roughly 10 kilometers I felt my aching muscles but had lots of fun!
