Abby Crisostomo<p>While in the US, they&#39;re experimenting with beer from reused greywater (😮 ) on the back of San Francisco&#39;s requirement for new builds to include water reuse, water reuse is still barely on the UK&#39;s radar. <a href="https://www.theguardian.com/food/2023/may/02/recycled-wastewater-beer-epic-cleantec-san-francisco-drought-california" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no"><span class="invisible">https://www.</span><span class="ellipsis">theguardian.com/food/2023/may/</span><span class="invisible">02/recycled-wastewater-beer-epic-cleantec-san-francisco-drought-california</span></a></p><p><a href="https://urbanists.social/tags/waterreuse" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>waterreuse</span></a> <a href="https://urbanists.social/tags/greywater" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>greywater</span></a> <a href="https://urbanists.social/tags/graywater" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>graywater</span></a> <a href="https://urbanists.social/tags/recycledwater" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>recycledwater</span></a> <a href="https://urbanists.social/tags/beer" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>beer</span></a></p>
Abby Crisostomo<p>ICYMI, new paper out by colleagues on water reuse and the difficulty of integrated water management in the context of water resource and drainage &amp; wastewater management plans. <a href="https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/wej.12859?utm_source=pocket_saves" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10</span><span class="invisible">.1111/wej.12859?utm_source=pocket_saves</span></a></p><p><a href="https://urbanists.social/tags/waterreuse" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>waterreuse</span></a> <a href="https://urbanists.social/tags/integratedwatermanagement" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>integratedwatermanagement</span></a> <a href="https://urbanists.social/tags/iwm" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>iwm</span></a> <a href="https://urbanists.social/tags/wrmp" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>wrmp</span></a> <a href="https://urbanists.social/tags/dwmp" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>dwmp</span></a></p>
Abby Crisostomo<p>Looks like there&#39;s some limited funding in Lambeth for 5 community projects to improve green spaces, including installation of a water butt. Deadline is 17 March. <a href="https://forms.office.com/pages/responsepage.aspx?id=DQSIkWdsW0yxEjajBLZtrQAAAAAAAAAAAAO__dYjTO5UN0FYWjM3NlVOREc5UThWTEdDVTRLSllaQi4u&amp;utm_source=Twitter&amp;utm_medium=social&amp;utm_campaign=Orlo" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">forms.office.com/pages/respons</span><span class="invisible">epage.aspx?id=DQSIkWdsW0yxEjajBLZtrQAAAAAAAAAAAAO__dYjTO5UN0FYWjM3NlVOREc5UThWTEdDVTRLSllaQi4u&amp;utm_source=Twitter&amp;utm_medium=social&amp;utm_campaign=Orlo</span></a> via Inuse Reuse &amp; Lambeth Council</p><p><a href="https://urbanists.social/tags/greenspace" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>greenspace</span></a> <a href="https://urbanists.social/tags/communitygrants" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>communitygrants</span></a> <a href="https://urbanists.social/tags/grants" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>grants</span></a> <a href="https://urbanists.social/tags/lambeth" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>lambeth</span></a> <a href="https://urbanists.social/tags/lambethcouncil" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>lambethcouncil</span></a> <a href="https://urbanists.social/tags/inusereuse" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>inusereuse</span></a> <a href="https://urbanists.social/tags/waterbutt" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>waterbutt</span></a> <a href="https://urbanists.social/tags/waterreuse" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>waterreuse</span></a> <a href="https://urbanists.social/tags/SuDS" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>SuDS</span></a></p>
Abby Crisostomo<p>Interesting research about impacts of drought on green infrastructure. They compared areas that were watered with non-potable water (so not subject to watering restrictions) &amp; areas not watered. In both cases, vegetation was still impacted (though in non-pot watered areas, slightly less), but in both cases, vegetation bounced back. <a href="https://waterinthewest.stanford.edu/news-events/news-insights/keeping-green-during-drought" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">waterinthewest.stanford.edu/ne</span><span class="invisible">ws-events/news-insights/keeping-green-during-drought</span></a></p><p><a href="https://urbanists.social/tags/drought" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>drought</span></a> <a href="https://urbanists.social/tags/nonpotablewater" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>nonpotablewater</span></a> <a href="https://urbanists.social/tags/waterrecycling" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>waterrecycling</span></a> <a href="https://urbanists.social/tags/greeninfrastructure" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>greeninfrastructure</span></a> <a href="https://urbanists.social/tags/waterreuse" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>waterreuse</span></a></p>
