Aptivi<p><strong>Windows 11 build 26100.3902 breaks the recovery&nbsp;environment</strong></p><p>A new Windows Insider build has been released for <a href="https://blogs.windows.com/windows-insider/2025/04/10/releasing-windows-11-build-26100-3902-to-the-release-preview-channel/" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Windows 11 build 26100.3902</a> under the knowledge base number KB5055627. It introduced some new features, such as seamless access to your connected phone right from your PC using the Phone Link feature. It also brought the controversial Microsoft Recall feature, which was infamous due to privacy concerns.</p><p>At the end of the changelogs from the official release announcement, there is only one known issue. Unfortunately, it’s a major issue revolving around the recovery environment, the Windows Recovery Environment (WinRE). The official blog says:</p><blockquote><p>After installing this update, Windows Recovery Environment (WinRE) may not work, and you may not be able to use the “Fix problems using Windows Update” option under Settings &gt; Recovery. These issues will be fixed in another update soon.</p></blockquote><p>WinRE is a separate environment from the full Windows installation that allows you to recover your computer from system failures using various tools, such as the command prompt and an option to restore your PC to an earlier point. As described earlier, you may not be able to use the “Fix problems using Windows Update” option, should your computer experience problems.</p><p><strong>Microsoft has, however, promised that they’re going to fix the issues soon.</strong></p><p>Photo by <a href="https://unsplash.com/@sanketgraphy?utm_content=creditCopyText&amp;utm_medium=referral&amp;utm_source=unsplash" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Sanket Mishra</a> on <a href="https://unsplash.com/photos/a-woman-sitting-on-a-bench-using-a-laptop-computer-y-miw5N0IEQ?utm_content=creditCopyText&amp;utm_medium=referral&amp;utm_source=unsplash" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Unsplash</a></p><p><span></span></p><p><a rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" class="hashtag u-tag u-category" href="https://officialaptivi.wordpress.com/tag/microsoft/" target="_blank">#microsoft</a> <a rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" class="hashtag u-tag u-category" href="https://officialaptivi.wordpress.com/tag/microsoft-windows/" target="_blank">#MicrosoftWindows</a> <a rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" class="hashtag u-tag u-category" href="https://officialaptivi.wordpress.com/tag/news/" target="_blank">#news</a> <a rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" class="hashtag u-tag u-category" href="https://officialaptivi.wordpress.com/tag/recovery/" target="_blank">#Recovery</a> <a rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" class="hashtag u-tag u-category" href="https://officialaptivi.wordpress.com/tag/tech/" target="_blank">#Tech</a> <a rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" class="hashtag u-tag u-category" href="https://officialaptivi.wordpress.com/tag/technology/" target="_blank">#Technology</a> <a rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" class="hashtag u-tag u-category" href="https://officialaptivi.wordpress.com/tag/update/" target="_blank">#update</a> <a rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" class="hashtag u-tag u-category" href="https://officialaptivi.wordpress.com/tag/windows/" target="_blank">#Windows</a> <a rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" class="hashtag u-tag u-category" href="https://officialaptivi.wordpress.com/tag/windows-11/" target="_blank">#Windows11</a> <a rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" class="hashtag u-tag u-category" href="https://officialaptivi.wordpress.com/tag/winre/" target="_blank">#WinRE</a></p>

Linux Is Best<p><span>Every once in a while, I encounter a Windows user, who is learning about Linux. And they hear the term "non-free" and think something cost money.<br><br>1st time Linux users, this does not mean they cost anything. Non-free or un-free is a generic term used to describe packages that may not be 100% open source or are open source, but have restricted licenses or whose developments for whatever reason could not be included in the ISO by default and were OPT-IN. Your media codecs are a good example of something that is non-free / unfree.<br><br></span><a href="https://mk.absturztau.be/tags/Windows" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Windows</a> <a href="https://mk.absturztau.be/tags/Windows10" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Windows10</a> <a href="https://mk.absturztau.be/tags/Windows11" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Windows11</a> <a href="https://mk.absturztau.be/tags/Microsoft" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Microsoft</a> <a href="https://mk.absturztau.be/tags/Linux" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Linux</a></p>
