Sitting in a meeting with our firm's Sharepoint admins that doesn't have an agenda and the host is just rambling.
So glad this was scheduled for an entire hour.
Here’s a memory from last year:
Ha! In getting a box of blackberries from the fridge, I glanced at its label. It said, “Best if enjoyed by…” but I was thinking about #work, so my brain translated that to “Best if #SelfEmployed by…”

Toddlers will keep you in the fucking present. You have no choice or risk loss of property.

In the last job I worked as an editor for a law firm, I remember figuring out how to see when others were watching the document I was editing (supposedly without my knowledge) and how angry it made me that I wasn't even asked to consent to being randomly observed.
I want to hear other people's stories or thoughts or feelings about being surveiled and evaluated at work. If you have any, and don't have to hide online too from bosses, please share.
I am personally about to feel the effects of #tariffs and the terrible immigration situation.
The #tourism market has essentially collapsed, as nobody is coming to the #usa out of boycotting travel here, due to the tarrifs and deporting.
I work as a waiter & host in fine dining, and was thinking about going back to work soon.
#losangeles is driven by tourists in high end restaurants, it will be much harder for me to find a #job now.

The unions in the state of #utah have received more than double the signatures needed for their referendum. This referendum would put it on the ballot to reverse the just passed law that banned collective bargaining in the state.
There is one caveat though, there’s another rule that it has to reach a certain threshold in at least 15 of 29 counties in the state. #union #unions #unionstrong #labor #workers #work #economy #utpol

Day 19
“Everyone should be paid a #FairWage for the #work they complete and it is time for the major parties to commit to this meaningful change for people with disability.
#People with #disability are being overlooked and left behind in the major party policy promises this election campaign.
… The answer to getting more people with disability into work is not to allow #CheapLabour, it’s to ensure we are funding #employment services that actually work, which allow people with disability to connect with work they find #meaningful and also gives them the opportunity to build their capacity to perform those roles.” — #DavidPocock

Repair and Remain: How to do the slow, hard, good work of staying put by Kurt Armstrong
Let’s say time comes to gut and renovate your bathroom: I can help you with that—demolition, framing, reworking the plumbing, moving some electrical, installing some mould-resistant drywall, maybe some nice tile for the floor and some classic glazed ceramic three-by-six subway tile for the tub surround. Should take a month or two, depending on what all’s involved. And as for you, hey, for the sake of your wife and kids, I think you better quit the flurry of furtive late-night texts to the sexy young co-worker and cut back a bit on your recreational drinking because wine is a mocker, so goes the proverb, as if those Facebook posts of you at the bar last week weren’t proof enough.
Repair and remain. Work with what you’ve got. Sit still for a moment, take stock, make some changes. Big changes, if necessary.
"Yeah but you can still work.
I don't wanna hear it hurts.
Get out there and exert
yourself for me, you twerp.
Don't give me that dead-eye stare.
To fix this, I'll have to care!
DWP: Laissez-faire.
MR, Appeal, if you dare
risk mental health care.
Human rights -- Au contraire.
Have you died yet? Get a job.
Meet the quota, can't log off.
Use elbow grease, you slob.
Breathe your betters' cough.
Can't sleep? Not my problem.
Waste of space; speck of crumb.
But don't be late, you damn bum.
With your shit we are done.
Yeah but you can still work.
Your forms give us no concern.
Body can move or jerk,
brain's stuck in a lurch...
Yeah but you can still work."

Did _anybody_ at MS think maybe this is a lot of fuss for something we all assumed Teams could do already?
This does not come across like the glorious feature announcement they think it does.
