Time to start planning ahead for the Women’s World Cup ⚽️ in Brazil in 2027. I went to the Men’s in 2014 with five girlfriends. We went to games in Fortaleza, plus spent time in beaches Jericocoacara (kitesurfing) and Canoa Quebrada. One of the best trips of my life.
Maybe next time games in other cities - last time Rio was too expensive as I was drowning in grad school debt (used frequent flyer miles to get to Brasil), but Rio & Salvador are both amazing!

I harbored slim hopes of going to some 2026 World Cup games, but I didn't broach it within the household until I could see pricing. Financial uncertainty about recessions caused by some fool with executive orders & a misunderstanding of tariffs evaporated any remaining hope entirely.

Individual tickets aren't on sale yet, only hospitality packages. And they are... shockingly expensive! Only "Pitchside Lounge" seating areas remain... at 3x starting prices. 😱

The fans may as well stay away, besides the boy Vance's not-so-veiled threats you just know that half the teams are going to be stopped at immigration and a proportion of the others subjected to dawn raids by ICE and discovered in a cell block in El Salvador weeks after the tournament.

Look, I’ve been posting about not going to major sporting events in dictatorships for at least a decade. It’s the reason I didn’t go to the World Cup in Russia or Qatar.
This is sick and repulsive. And if FIFA weren’t so corrupt and aligned with dictators, it would be talking about moving the World Cup.
