In 2018, the “Hermitage Amsterdam” hosted ‘Classic Beauties’, an exhibition on neoclassicism. Featuring over 60 works by 25 leading artists, it explored the influence of antiquity on 18th-century art. 😍<br>

Until 2022 it hosted exhibitions featuring art from the “Hermitage” in Saint Petersburg but eventually, the ties with Russia were severed, due to the Russian aggression in Ukraine. By fall 2023, the museum was renamed to “H’ART Museum” ♥️ 🇺🇦 🕊️<br>

Amsterdam_XXXArtist Steffen Maas made a mosaic portrait of the legendary Nelson Mandela at the corner of Krugerplein and Pretoriusstraat (also called “De Krugerkop”). 🇿🇦🙌<br>

The mosaic was constructed from hundreds of wooden shields with South African patterns in 2014. It emerged from the collaboration between residents from the Transvaal buurt, among others. The mosaic was intended to confirm or emphasize the neighborhood's connection with South Africa. 🤝<br>

Amsterdam_XXX“De Piramides” (the pyramids) is a residential complex on Jan van Galenstraat. Designed by S. Soeters and fully finished in 2006. In this frame you’re looking at the back of the two 50-meter triangular towers (housing 82 apartments). 🔼🔼<br>
