Fun fact: if over consumed, nutmeg can cause an extremely unpleasant psychotic effect. Not sure what dose is required for a 45lb kid but I thought it best to pull a couple berries out of the smoothie my daughter was constructing. #nutmeg
@MnGardener81 Your kid probably wouldn't eat enough before hating the taste. Someone I went to college with tried it and ended up eating at least a full spice jar of it to get an effect (he also weighed probably 200 lbs, but still considerably more than the sprinkle on those berries).
@SRLevine it gets blended into the smoothie so the taste might not deter her. My experience was getting a throbbing headache from a dose that was much less than a spice jar. I’ve always been fairly sensitive to most drugs though. Basically I wouldn’t bet on her reacting from the amount but I didn’t want to make that bet either. So I lowered her dose by taking out the two most covered berries before she mixed it.
