There are a lot of developers in the world. Enough to work on Rust-in-Linux and a Rust-only kernel as well.
A small, Rust-only kernel could try out some ideas that might actually spend up Rust-in-Linux development.
@drewdevault@fosstodon.org For a time, Perl was the 800 lb gorilla of web development and its killer feature was the millions of lines of Perl code published on CPAN.
But in relatively short order, the equivalent of all that code and then far more was rewritten in JavaScript for NPM and now much of THAT is being rewritten in TypeScript.
This is a normal cycle.
