At my first public meeting in years and wow public meetings are terrible. People grandstanding and shouting and calling for applause and accusing DDOT people of not caring about kids (because parking will be reduced temporarily for construction)
We really need good alternatives to these formats.
Also DDOT needs people who have good communication skills at their meetings. The project design team is good at communicating. The DDOT head person is not.
Example: one resident (Dan Winston) said let’s study the traffic issues, and the project manager basically said “we have other divisions that do that.” Once DDOT merged some divisions and this was a good reason, but they got split again
