@straphanger House of commoons Committee on Transportation studied the issue and concluded the service would not stop in Downtown Montreal. It is an accepted limitation due to political requirement to pass through Trois Rivières. The terminus would either be at Parc station (EXO) or at the REM station where the Train de L'Est will be forced to terminate. From there to ottawa, might make more sense to use the old CP north shore line and cross Ottawa river o new bridge to get to Tremblay
@jfmezei @straphanger that’s unfortunate. We’re already starting to nickel-and-dime ourselves out of a great thing, as is typical for our pols. If we cheap out and it doesn’t go through downtown Montreal and Toronto, it won’t get used.
@straphanger what was the alternative for Toronto? I had no idea it was ever in doubt. What a terrible concept. It needs to go downtown, and there's no barrier to going past.
