A little late with this month's hopefuls, but here they are!

I want to reread the Heartless Hunter to refresh my memory of the storyline before I start Rebel Witch. This is a duology that I have been so excited to finish reading, and I can't wait to see where the second book takes Rune and Gideons' story.

I've read Isabel Cañas' Vampires of El Norte, and I can't wait to read The Hacienda. This genre is out of my comfort zone since I don't tend to read horror books. But since her other book was not so heavy on the horror, I'm hoping this one won't be either.

Historical fiction, murder mystery

👍 This book was so damn GOOD. So haunting, so real, and as a person with sisters, I felt the underlying theme of female familial bonds. I loved the historical note at the end!

👎 Thus, my only complaint was at the end. I understand that this was also a romance, but I think the end was missing that extra special punch to the feels. I needed an on-page sister heart-to-heart.

YA, Asian inspired mythology, friends to lovers

👍 Solid installment in the series. I enjoyed the world building and getting to know more about the Northern kingdom. I think this one had the most cliffhanger ending thus far BUT we are gearing up for the final boss fight in the next book.

👎 The political intrigue could’ve been better BUT the characters were wrapped up in the demon threat so 🤷‍♀️

Ich bin auf Seite 76, und gerade ist mir aufgefallen, dass unter den knapp hundert Personen, die schon vorgestellt wurden, Kapitäne, Ärzte, Steuermänner, Admiräle, keine einzige Frau war.
