If you live in #Hackney and *really* like either #TheSmiths, #Blur, #TheCranberries, #KaiserChiefs, #Babyshambles, #Courteeners, #StephenDuffy, The mighty lemon drops, #Triffids, #Pretenders, #Sleeper, #Suede, #NewOrder or #TheZutons then you should email your councillors to have a highway named Stephen Street Street after the producer of the above acts.
It would both recognise an artist who was born in Hackney according to Wikipedia, as well as obviously being funny, and also increase tourism

#FortnightFridayMusic April 18 2024 the word is "Substance"
Artist: New Order
Album: Substance (1988)
Song: True Faith

Maybe using album title is a bit of a cheat, especially when "Substance" is literally just a collection of 12-inch singles. But New Order was one of those British bands that mostly didn't put their singles on albums, so it's an essential part of their discography.
And also I love this video, it's my favourite video of all time. It's ridiculous and has nothing to do with the song, but those clowns/dancers just mesmerize me every time.
#NowListening: #Revenge (ex-#NewOrder #PeterHook) - One True Passion
This album undeservedly gets a lot of hate, even by Peter Hook himself. Sometimes the greatest creations, the unique art pieces, come forth from strife, confusion, and a lot of drugs: this album ticks all boxes. At times it's brooding, sweaty, industrial, Pineapple Face, then the sky clears up: Big Bang is bright, hopeful, and jangly. Kiss The Chrome is the only letdown on this awkward masterpiece.
First draft: You've caught me at a bad time, so why don't you piss off?
Second draft: Thank you for your email. I am currently working on a major project so my response may be delayed...
