And I am now very pleased to report that my #Slackware server qemu has been updated to version 9.1.3, without any issues.
I am going to try and install #OpenBSD 7.6 on it and see if I still have issues with it.

Vlog S03E48: In this episode, we install Slackware AArch64 on Apple Silicon using Parallels on macOS. A full install takes ~10 minutes.

I think we've covered all the hypervisors now ;-)
A small defeat...
I had to abandon #slackware on my work machine. I was using current, and I reinstalled to be on stable, but I ran into a couple of issues that I wasn't able to fix on time.
Things needed to get done, and I didn't have the time or knowledge to make it work.
I'll still be using Slackware in a couple of laptops where I don't have that same preassure, and on which I am free to tinker and experiment.
If anyone is interested, I got back to #Manjaro, my other go-to distro.

Slackware-current just adopted #OpenSSH 10.0.p1 & #OpenSSL 3.5
n/openssh-10.0p1-x86_64-1.txz: Upgraded. Potentially-incompatible changes include the removal of the weak DSA signature algorithm, completing the deprecation process that began in 2015 (when DSA was disabled by default) and repeatedly warned over the last 12 months.
n/openssl-3.5.0-x86_64-1.txz: Upgraded. New LTS release, supported until 08 Apr 2030.
Vlog: S03E47 - Slackware AArch64 - macOS paravirtualization - VMWare & UTM
Install Slackware AArch64 on macOS (UTM + VMware Fusion) in under 10 mins using paravirtualization! Easy, fast, and great for exploration. Enjoy!
Hello
The Slackware-current "All in One" Installer images have been refreshed with the latest version of the Slackware Installer and Slackware package set, and the Install Guides updated.
The new generic EFI bootable ISO has also been refreshed.
Enjoy!
Plasma 6.3.4 is up & at em! Now available within my #kde6 repos for #slackware & #slackwareaarch64 | https://slackware.lngn.net/

When I first installed Linux at home (Slackware, 1993) for University Unix work/compatibility I had to buy an extra 4MB (yes, MEGA BYTES) of RAM to run it on my PC taking it to a massive 8MB of RAM, with a 150MB Hard Drive, and 3.5” floppy disks for backups. (My older system used 5 1/4” these new ones seemed slick by comparison)
That 4MB stick cost me over 100UKP in 1993.
These modern systems are absolutely immense, and cheap, by comparison.

This week's Gang of Four consists of Slackware KDE 6.3.3, Gentoo with dwm & Qtile Wayland, AerynOS with Gnome 48 and Asterix Saigon, my Aurora beta spin (Fedora 42). Although all are rolling and rocking this absolutely feels solid

@itsfoss it will be @devuan but i would have a bootable USB flash with #slackware somewhere :)
The generic bootable EFI Slackware AArch64 Installer ISO is now released!
At the moment, we’re using it to install Slackware via paravirtualization within UTM on macOS (Apple Silicon). It also works in VMWare Fusion, though I still need some time to put together the installation guide for that. Later, the generic ISO can be used to install Slackware on other HWM's.
If you’d like to try it out with UTM, here’s the guide: https://docs.slackware.com/slackwarearm:inst_sa64_virt
so. cleaned my home dir, updated rust, zig, node, R and Observable, opened an account at codeberg - now I just have to do something instead of cleaning everything
(on a side note - I just love #slackware everything just works, building R with everything is not problem - at least I'm using fortran once a year.. :))
Tired of typing "git commit -m 'your message'" every time?
With Git bash-completion, just "git comm<tab> -m<tab>"!
Save keystrokes & reduce errors.
My guide shows you how to set it up properly on Slackware:

Make your Git workflow smoother!
- The #Slackware LXC manual: run ˋ/usr/libexec/lxc/lxc-net start`
- The command: can’t run properly, dnsmasq already running.
- Me: ok, fsck off
- create an #OpenBSD libvirt vm.
- configure and run dhcpd.
- configure and run unbound.
- rc.dnsmasq stop
- rc.unbound stop
- Me: can I continue trying to run LXC now!?
