Been learning how to shuttle tat lace
The hardest part of it has honestly been giving myself permission to do it,
and then not getting caught up in how "good" or meritorious the finished pieces are.
Also working thru the worry that my creations have to be useful in some way or else they dont deserve to exist,
which of course touches feelings i have about myself & my usefulness/right to exist...

i was so happy when i discovered shuttle tatting, which eliminates both issues and is actually not that hard to learn. The stitches are structured pretty much like macrame knots and the patterns/diagrams are easy to follow. Even for me, and i can't stand reading patterns 
this is a free pattern i found online, originally meant to be attached as edging on a handkerchief.
