Most nuclear plants are projected for 40 year life spans. Around half of all nuclear plants ever built were shut down well before reaching that, for economical or political reasons. They can last longer but not without costly refurbishments.
The oldest still operating nuclear reactor that has continually produced electricity is 55 years old.
