George Orwell in his novel “Nineteen Eighty-Four” called the Big Lie “doublethink”. Doublethink uses “logic against logic” and “repudiate[s] morality while laying claim to it.” The Big Lie abolishes nuances, ambiguities and contradictions that can plague conscience. It is designed to create cognitive dissonance. It permits no gray zones.

The #DoubleThink displayed by both Donald Trump and #MTG's squeeze, Brian Glenn at the White House is shocking if unsurprising, given Pres. Zelenskyy was attacked for not wearing a suit to the Oval Office in front of a bust of Winston Churchill.
As Winston Smith put it in 1984:
"The party told you to reject the evidence of your eyes and ears. It was their final, most essential command."
