A quotation from Franklin Roosevelt

In dictatorships there can be no party divisions. For all men must think as they are told, speak as they are told, write as they are told, live — and die — as they are told. In those countries the Nation is not above the party, as with us; the party is above the Nation; the party is the Nation. Every common man and woman is forced to walk the straight and narrow path of the party line, not strictly speaking a party line, but rather a line drawn by the dictator himself, who owns the party.

There's good reason not to trust #SocialDemocrats & #FDR fetishists who literally see us as the enemy, rightfully so, as we don't agree with your way which has failed ever since the late 1890's of electing better #Democrats.

Where has it gotten you? It got you your #Progressive #dems end up being careerists who #organize into Top-down fundraising orgs as every Democratic orgs with no membership rights nor duties as the #DemocraticParty isn't held accountable.

A quotation from Franklin Roosevelt

The dictators cannot seem to realize that here in America our people can maintain two parties, and at the same time maintain an inviolate and indivisible Nation. The totalitarian mentality is too narrow to comprehend the greatness of a people who can be divided in party allegiance at election time, but remain united in devotion to their country and to the ideals of democracy at all times.

Once in office, [Francis] Perkins was a driving force behind the administration’s massive investment in public works projects to get people back to work. She urged the government to spend $3.3 billion on schools, roads, housing, & post offices. Those projects employed more than a million people in 1934.

" ...the liberty of a democracy is not safe if the people tolerated the growth of private power to a point where it becomes stronger than the democratic state itself. That in its essence is fascism: ownership of government by an individual, by a group, or any controlling private power." - FDR, 1938

I'm printing this out. Great explainer. Very clear.

A quotation from Frankln Roosevelt

Perfectionism, no less than isolationism or imperialism or power politics, may obstruct the paths to international peace. Let us not forget that the retreat to isolationism a quarter of a century ago was started not by a direct attack against international cooperation but against the alleged imperfections of the peace.
In our disillusionment after the last war we preferred international anarchy to international cooperation with Nations which did not see and think exactly as we did. We gave up the hope of gradually achieving a better peace because we had not the courage to fulfill our responsibilities in an admittedly imperfect world.
We must not let that happen again, or we shall follow the same tragic road again — the road to a third world war.

Franklin Delano Roosevelt (1882-1945) American lawyer, politician, statesman, US President (1933-1945)
Message (1945-01-06) to Congress, Annual Message (State of the Union)

“Almighty God: [..] With Thy blessing, we shall prevail over the unholy forces of our enemy. Help us to conquer the apostles of greed and racial arrogancies. Lead us to the saving of our country, and with our sister Nations into a world unity that will spell a sure peace, a peace invulnerable to the scheming of unworthy men. And a peace that will let all men live in freedom, reaping the just rewards of their honest toil.”

Franklin D. Roosevelt, D-Day Prayer, June 6, 1944,
#FDR

"never in the history of the world has a nation lost its democracy by a successful struggle to defend its democracy. We must not be defeated by the fear of the very danger which we are preparing to resist. Our freedom has shown its ability to survive war, but our freedom would never survive surrender. The only thing we have to fear, is fear itself.”

Franklin D. Roosevelt, May 27, 1941

2/2 #Harris and the #Democrats were never going to fix this. At best, they would have slowed #Americas decline. Why? Because #neoliberal #capitalism eats itself. #Liberals are Neoliberals. It is a right-wing position, just a kinder, gentler capitalist philosophy (lol). And that’s why they would never fix what needs fixed. That’s why, even when the Dems were in power, they did very little to correct an unsustainable direction. America hasn’t had a real #leftwing movement since #FDR. The malaise of the #1970s should have been an indicator things weren’t working. Instead, the #US kicked the can down the road with #Reagan, and then #Clinton.
