"This May Day we will rally and march in Williston, Vermont in solidarity with Migrant Justice’s day-long picket at Hannaford Supermarkets. They are demanding that Hannaford join Milk with Dignity and pay farm workers fair wages and benefits. We will assemble, march past the ICE Data facility, which centralizes and distributes information to immigration authorities and law enforcement throughout the country to arrest and deport migrants, and end with a rally at Hannaford with Migrant Justice."

A piece of knowledge many white non-immigrant English-speaking folks may need to absorb and internalize in this moment:

These government police forces acting brutally towards immigrants? They were always like that.

ICE and other policing forces in this country are fundamentally corrupt. In fact, the entire systems of "policing" and "border control" in America have racist and xenophobic origins.

If our country survives this coup attempt with democracy intact, these systems will need to be left behind or rebuilt from the ground up with a new vision. Otherwise we will be trading overt fascism for fascism lite.

Three actions anyone can take RIGHT NOW if they do not already have an action they are taking to support folks targeted by ICE:

1. Donate or volunteer with LUCE Massachusetts at www.lucemass.org

2. Program the LUCE Massachusetts phone number into your contacts and favorite it so you can quickly call them if you see ICE agents in your community
