I think Nvidia GPUs peaked with the 1000 series cards, now there's not much left to justify for an average user to upgrade who just plays games that aren't super graphically intense at 1080p and needs CUDA for video editing acceleration. Sure there's AV1 and better Nvenc, I guess.
