The new draft #CharlottesvilleCitySchools attendance maps are out and there are indeed a lot of changes. We have seen a lot of attendance growth on the south part of the City, but we haven't built a new school in decades. I do not envy the School Board the hard choices that they have to make. woolpertinc.maps.arcgis.com/ap #cville #SafeRoutesToSchool

The Salinas Valley Safe Routes to School Program has been officially adopted by the Transportation Agency for Monterey County (TAMC) board of directors and the #Gonzales, #Soledad, #Greenfield, and #KingCity city councils. Here comes Byron's DGAF, stinking his way past two schools and over a hill to avoid some traffic signals on the way to make a U-turn and then fill a yard with fumes on the other side of the neighborhood. Shovels sticking out behind the foldaway mirror probably won't fold the same. Might need a to look at what traffic this Local Service Traffic Street is carrying.

“I hope PPS takes note of the turnout and will offer our educators a better package, and I hope PBOT takes note of how many parents and kids will bike when the atmosphere is safe and supportive — so many families biking today told me they don’t ride nearly as often as they want because they don’t feel safe or confident on our streets.” 👈

Between the wood smoke, exhaust of cold car engines climbing a hill, and the complete policy failure of our system's status-quo, older generations are really sticking it to the kids. Career DOT people can't figure out why we wouldn't want to give them $4B for finishing their project designs from the 1950s (to use Portland as an example) just shut it down.
