In Marvel Two-In-One issue 50 The Things uses Doctor Doom's time machine to go back in time to just after the cosmic ray incident. Reed Richards had created a cure to turn The Thing back into Ben Grimm, but not in the current day.
In classic Marvel fashion The Thing (future) battles The Thing (past), wins, and gives him the cure, which works.
However our The Thing does not change. After going back to his own time, he asks Reed Richards, who explains that a parallel universe had been created from the past point.
I love the concept of time travel. My favourite album is ELO's Time.
Starlord and 2000AD comics were the only ones that truly got the concept of time travel correct with Strontium Dog, excepting Doctor Who of course.
