I like how Brave Search likes to call rain "trouble"
It's play delayed due to rain
After unexpectedly taking a four-hour drag queen workshop, I reflect on my fifty-year journey becoming brave.

#Cookiecrumbler: enhancing online #privacy by automating cookie notice detection
The Chrome extension ecosystem is such a valuable element of #Brave (and other #Chromium based browsers).
For example, Roam with #Mastodon finally makes Mastodon usable from your browser! chromewebstore.google.com/detail/roam-...

Here are comments on the evolution of browser share in a year.
(The three samples are heavily skewed to English-speaking higher eds.)
Last year results: https://techhub.social/@estelle/112047924116566034
You may still answer in the previous toot.
3/4 Fediverse members use #Firefox proper. Same as last year.
We welcome other parts of the Firefox family (any browser with Gecko inside):
• The share of Librewolf mentions doubled since last year.
• The share of other Gecko-based forks mentions also doubled since last year. (Even though some Waterfox usage is not logged because i did not list it.)
The shares of Chrome and Vivaldi were stable for the first thousand answerers (maybe more IT inclined) but doubled with the later thousand (in the last 24 hours).
The share of the last line (Opera-Blink-Brave mentions) decreased since last year.

At least Brave are a) transparent about the answer being algorithmically-generated, b) giving a warning about potential inaccuracies, c) giving links to the sources the algorithm is drawing from, and d) giving a normal list of search results underneath, so you can ignore the algorithmic answer. That's a huge improvement over what most companies deploying a Trained #MOLE are doing.
Which browsers do you use?
• Multiple choice to account for various usage and any device (pro & perso)
• You may boost to enlarge the sample

I’m testing out Brave as my default mobile browser.
Just the fact that it automatically hides cookie banners and ads is a huge win for usability!

Brave might be known for being a browser that protects its users' privacy, but some of the practices the company behind it has engaged in are questionable at best.

@brave I know people on the #fediverse often have issues with #cryptocurrency and also #brave so for some this is two terrible things combined.
And whilst I understand the arguments, the #technology and #privacy aspects here are interesting to me.
