📚️ Flycast is a fork of Reicast, and a libre, multi-platform, single-player / multi-player (online) emulator of the SEGA Dreamcast, SEGA Naomi & Naomi 2 and SAMMY Atomiswave consoles. It supports 90% of Dreamcast games (both native and Windows CE), SEGA Naomi 1&2 games, state saves (savestates) and internal resolutions, VMU display (SEGA peripheral), making it one of the best SEGA Dreamcast emulators. It has its own compatible BIOS (BIOS HLE). You can also install the Dreamcast BIOS (files dc_boot.bin and dc_flash.bin, to be copied to ~/.local/share/flycast). Excellent!

The more I look into something like #Snap from Canonical, the less I like it. I am old school, but that isn't the reason. I understand the idea behind global type packages like #Flatpak, #AppImages, and even #Snap. I just hate the way Canonical has gone so heavy-handed on it, pirating apt cmds, and closed off the back-end. Just seems to be anti-FOSS. I no others disagree and that is fine. Just my personal take.

Installing the #flatpak Plugin for #Ubuntu following ( https://flathub.org/setup/Ubuntu ) just nearly gave me a heartattack, after my computer did not get up again at the restart.

An IT- friend helped me to get back inside with strg-alt-F3 , something i had't known alone and not found out in the state of panic i was in.

I am now to afraid to try and install the #Freetube app out of sheer fear, my system might crash again.

I've no idea what happened and if it can again.

My poor heart

🕶️ Its UI with a strategy game. The central part is occupied by a map divided into hexagons with pixelart units. The period is medieval, several Mongol units & a trebuchet surround a castle in the center. The units have an icon for easy understanding (mongol, sword, trebuchet, ..), slightly transparent when not selected. The Mongol on horseback on the right of the castle is selected. The castle (named Elephantine) seems to be under siege. On the left of the UI several command buttons (Sleep, Pillage Pasture, Explore, Wait, ..), below the characteristics of the selected unit (Keshik, 2 stars, XP 5/20, ..), in the lower middle a box with what seems to be a report on the selected unit (Keshik vs Elephantine). To the right of the UI, a message area ("The resistance in Sydney has ended!", ..), lower right a mini map. At the top of the interface a hamburger menu, and near it the title "Mongolia". At the top middle several indicators, the period (1520 AD) and on the right an "Overview" button.

📚️ UnCiv is a ~ libre (icons & sounds not all libre), multi-platform, single-player / multi-player (by exchange of "User ID"), turn-based strategy game (4X) & Empire building, inspired by Civilization V: the game starts in 4000 BC Christ, the player directs a nation or an ethnic group, with the aim of supremacy over the other protagonists, leading his group until 2050 AD. It's a neat game that offers in-game help to get started, solo/multiplayer, map editor and game save / load. Very good!

📚️ The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind is an open-world action RPG game, in which the player performs various quests proposed by NPCs in the eponymous country (and more precisely on the 24 km² Vvardenfell island) and is brought to meet many creatures. OpenMW is a libre, multi-platform and mature single player engine, compatible with its data, in order to extend its possibilities (multi-platform, recent hardware support, better graphics, physics, ...) and to make it possible to modify / add additional content (official or not).
