It’s going to be a cold night tonight, only 2c apparently yet I’m as warm as toast right now. That might be different in the morning & tomorrow night is forecast to be the same. I did think I maybe should get the feather doona out, but I’m going to just go with an extra blanket for now. Might be a different matter next week! I have moved my Oodie into the bedroom - just in case 😁.
I finally got my pittosporums trimmed back & the afternoon winter sun can now reach into my bedroom window. I’d let it grow for a wee bit too long & it took a while to deal with. It’s done now though, until next time 😬 & I’m aware of my back & legs tonight, but they’ll be fine by morning.

Good morning tooters. It was decidedly chilly when I woke this morning just before 6am, very fresh outside, still dark & a star filled sky. It’s around 7-8c right now & will only be getting to 19c today - no rain again. I will water the garden later. It will be a lovely day though.
Not very much on today. A balance class first up, get the joints lubricated & moving. I am going to take a small thermos down to my sisters. She is still spending most of her days on her bed & struggles to get a cup of tea into her bedroom as she uses a walker. The thermos will hold the equivalent of two cups & she can put it in a bag attached to the handle bars, no worries about spillage. I might even take down a well sealed keep cup I have & that will give her three cups worth.
It’s funny. The last few months I have had so much going on in my life, swimming regularly, house sits, trips here & there & it’s now settled down. While I’m enjoying the calmer quieter days, it feels strange to not feel like I need to be off & running 😁.

En la noche del 1 de mayo, hice algo que me encanta y ansiaba: Cocinar.
Amasé dos masas; una salada para la cena (pizzas) y otra dulce para hacer pastafrola (un pastel relleno de dulce que es común por estos lares) y pepas de membrillo, unas galletas que Mi padre las preparó en forma de flor.
Esas fotos fueron tomadas cuando armaba la masa dulce. Luego, me fui a derretir el dulce de membrillo con un tenedor.
Utilicé la harina leudante de la marca Blancaflor, que es la mejor cuando se trata de preparar cosas dulces. Lo dijo mi padre, y no dudo de los que saben más sobre el tema.
Un día me convertiré en panadera (como lo fue mi padre de joven) y cocinaré cosas ricas en el hogar, como lo hace mi hermana de Uruguay; pues ambas eredamos el gusto por la panadería.
Aquí está el resultado; el resto lo hizo mi padre.

Ahora, procedo a compartirles una importante lección de este día: Si hacen aquello que les encanta y les motiva, su salud mental mejorará con el tiempo.
