I’m leaving Alaska for a bit, but we had one last trip to see the wonder that this place provides.
We snowmachined back to a public use cabin on the outskirts of the Alaska range and vibed out for 2 days.
What we were treated to was a face melting view of 13,000ft peaks, untouched wilderness and absolutely awe inspiring aurora. I love Alaska but this may be my last winter here as it’s just not as profitable in winter work.
But I’ve spent years now with my neck strained looking up at the glory that explodes above us in the sky. But it may be time to spend some time elsewhere for the winter.

A look acrosscalm Lake Pehoe to the towering snow-capped peaks in Torres del Paine NP in Patagonia Chile. The calm water reflects the majestic mountain peaks. The small red structure is the dining hall of the lodging where we stayed which had this spectacular view!

Autumn project kicking off. Announcing Hutty the Hutster, a 6m x 3m experiment in hut building sized for visitors and teenagers wishing to escape the house (and other emergencies).

Having built in timber, straw bale and light earth this Is going to be a more conventional light weight thermally optimised build with some unconventional plywood portal engineering.

Been building it on my head for a few years so very excited to get started.
