Otherwise we would have a capable and dedicated public servant in the #WhiteHouse and the insurrectionist and fraudster in #Jail. Not holding my breath, though. Apparently still 45% of voters are approving of the #OrangeFelon's job performance... Even with markets in free fall, looming recession, and talking about war with Denmark, Panama, and Canada these fuckwits give him higher rating than Biden at the same time in his presidency.

I got a #freebsd #jail called 'solr'. I want to start /usr/local/etc/rc.d/solr first and then I want to start a /usr/local/etc/rc.d/solr_exporter script I wrote.

The solr_exporter service needs to start AFTER solr does.

The original solr rc.d service script that comes with the package appears to not make use of daemon at all.

If I bring up the jail, solr starts but the solr_exporter script fails because it tries to start it up immediately afterwards but since solr isn't ready yet, it fails.

Any way to fix the timing of this? The way jails start services seems.. weird.. I tried adding: until sockstat -4 | grep :8983; do sleep 1; done in the start section for solr_exporter but then it just hangs.

Not sure what to do here. Any FreeBSD jail experts know how to solve a situation like this?

My view. Whilst l understand that "motorists anger" at climate protests is "understandable", that "road rage" is generally the narrow minded #psychology of folk that, e.g., & in my experience, don't even care enough to try & #recycle

Environmentalism is a learning curve, many adults haven't learnt to take their first "baby steps", & that's the huge ecological problem

The entire apparatus is executed with maximum emphasis on #punishment and a superficial mention of #rehabilitation. It is absolutely no wonder that re-offending rates are so high when those leaving prison are in a worse way than when they came in.

And whatever stability people had in their lives before prison, whether it’s housing or employment, is ripped away when you step inside …

A serial #car #thief has been sent to #jail and banned from #driving after stealing and crashing an #EV converted #VW #Kombi ( Typ2) in #Powys #Wales worth £65 000 as he couldn't handle the vehicles acceleration and skidded on manure on a country road (alas, the vehicle was written off)

(incidentally this seems to be a *really* quick turnaround for a Crown #Court case, from #arrest (and #remand) to jail barely within a month?)
