For testing out, I created a #Matrix room for chatting about #aikido and #aikijujutsu. If you’re on or interested in Matrix, you should find it as #aiki:matrix.org (I believe, I’m still exploring).
Of course I’m also on a similar channel on the Martial Arts Alliance #Discord server (with channels on many #martialArts). The aiki channel there is pretty active.

Today I was promoted to Yodan, which is a 4th degree black belt. I train at Tracy's Karate and got my 1st degree black belt in 2016, on Friday 13th May.
My instructor says everyone's black belt test will make them think they're going to die, and the mark of a black belt is that you keep going. I remember thinking that I would never finish the test, that the rest of my life would be in that room, and that was OK. I kept going. I am a black belt.

Master Lin in 1992: "With a lot of training, you can move energy with your hands and throw your opponent far away."
My physics student friend in 1992: "That's a lie, the hand only emits heat."
Master Lin dies in 2018.
My now-scientist friend: "Lin was right, a hand moving at high speed can emit gravitational waves, although we can't measure them yet."
I push him and throw him away and we both laugh.
(My scientist friend is also autistic and gifted)
Here's video of tonight's flaming staff fight.
We've worked out our fire staff fight choreography for Friday's agni kai. Now we just have to learn it.
Have anyone tried practising aikido-kind (or similar) techniques against kickboxing (or any street style fighting) punches and kicks?
especially the real speed punches?
incl. series of punches?
it sounds like extremely interesting "don´t try this at home" thing to do
do people practise someting like this? especially here in Finland?
(without going down on the floor for bjj or at least without choking)
I'm a big fan of redemption stories. They remind us that there's no such thing as a "bad person". Even people who have done really bad things are capable of changing their perspective, taking responsibility for their past, and doing everything they can to make it right.
This is why I loved the original Star Wars trilogy, and none of the spinoffs made since have been as satisfying for me. It's also why I've enjoyed every season of Cobra Kai.

"Teachers may seem all-knowing, OK? But they are just human beings like the rest of us. They may have their flaws, and their failures, but it's not on us to carry that. Our responsibility is to take the good lessons that we're taught and pass those along."
