What do think these birds are doing?

They were perched in the high branches of these tall trees, many of them with their wings spread wide. There is no sun for them to be getting any warmth from, just overcast daylight. There were several doing this, flying off again and then coming back to do the same again. I think they are crows or ravens, though at first I thought they might be bald eagles.

Any ideas anyone?

A red squirrel with white belly is perched on the end of an evergreen branch with short foliage. She seems to be aware of the photographer so is perhaps looking sideways at him to be on the safe side. She has cute little ears and there are signs that she is lactating, so she must have a nest somewhere near.

A bright sunny day in springtime, with a curving line of bright red tulips and low dark purple and pale pink flowers leading up to a majestic looking old stone building. A market stall bearing fruit, such as grapes, bananas, figs, peaches and with green vine type leaves twining around the stall. There is a bowl with what seems to be two snakes, facing each other with mouths open. I think they are toys, probably. The vendor,, standing behind the stall is arranging small yellow bananas and at the end of that shelf is a white statuette of a cherub. There are price tickets displayed and behind the stall is a man talking on his mobile phone next to a black iron grating.

A swirling river with brownish blue water and foam has some branches that are suspended over the water with a buildup of snow on the top and icicles hanging below, resembling bristles, so that the whole thing resembles a toothbrush or a hairbrush. The long exposure gives the water a silky look contrasting with the sharp looking icicles.

Fog Clinging to Blomidon Viewed From Medford cliffs
It's an extraordinary effect that fog pouring over the edge of the cliff into the water.

The bottom half of the frame has a predominately reddish tone with sand and pools of water from a receding tide. This is low tide in the place of the highest tides in the world, so this is actually the bay floor. At bottom left quarter is a single person, so far away it's very tiny, possibly digging for lugworms or some other fishing bait. There is a rock formation in the bottom right quarter, which would be mostly underwater at high tide. The upper part of the picture has a raised land mass on the left side, with a thick layer of fog that appears to be pouring over its edge into the water we see in the distance. Beyond that water is a low shoreline. The sky is very heavy with dark grey and blueish clouds broken with a pale sky near the horizon.

"The Sisters" - Lake Kejimkujik - temperature -14° C all day.
plus a wind!

This photograph was taken on a day when the temperature was bitingly cold, with a bitter wind blowing. I had to keep my camera batteries in my underwear. It was so beautiful that I hardly noticed the cold, though and didn't stop until the light failed. The lake was frozen solid and was constantly creaking and groaning, sending eerie sounds through the wind.

A cold feeling almost monochrome scene, showing a frozen lake surface stretching towards three separate small islands across the frame with evergreen trees growing on them. Hidden Waterfall in the woods

Off the beaten track, this waterfall is actually not far from the Bay of Fundy, which is within walking distance. It would be almost impossible to find unless you knew someone who told you the way. So don't go looking! LOL!
