Als ich vor über 20 Jahren begonnen habe #Fairtrade Produkte zu kaufen und über meinen #Konsum nachzudenken, haben mich viele ausgelacht: "Das bringt doch nichts"
Inzwischen gibt es Fair Trade Kaffee bei #aldi und dieser Markt wächst.
Ich werde #unplugtrump und vor allem der #Demokratie dienen so lange ich lebe, weil ich weiß dass jeder #Ozean am Ende nur aus einer endlichen Anzahl von #Tropfen besteht.

Wenn Blumen mit dem Flugzeug importiert werden, wird ihr Stiel vorher in ein Fungizid getaucht, damit sie nicht verschimmeln. Und so weiter. Einen konventionellen Blumenstrauß sollten sie nicht im eigenen Komposthaufen entsorgen – und wenn sie ihn anfassen, sollten Sie sich danach die Hände waschen.“

In einem Artikel über #Fairtrade wird in einem Nebensatz erwähnt, dass die #Blumen mit dem #Flugzeug aus #Nairobi kommen.

Ist das nicht pervers? Wir stellen uns abgeschnittene Pflanzen aus Afrika auf den Tisch? Weil #LeiderGeil?

Weil das Flugkerosin nicht das kostet, was es kosten müsste, würde man die Schäden einpreisen.

Wenn Ihr Blumen haben wollt, kauft regionale und saisonale.

@Radical_EgoCom justifications??? i am actually deconflating the two, and while i did not further magnify my thoughts on the exploitative nature in this post, I have never supported capitalism, as you could see from any of my posted content, but do promote #mutalaid and #fairtrade as negotiated between individuals...aka bartering, but no the two are not inherently the same...(and anything can be used to exploit others if that is the aims and intent of the user)🤔 🤷🏾‍♂️

ScienceOpenThe Sustainable Cocoa Debate: Key controversies<p xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" dir="auto" id="d15756936e124">The sustainability of agriculture has been a topic of public debate over the last twenty years. The cocoa sector has been at the centre of this debate because of the large demand for chocolate in the Global North, which was one of the first sectors to begin to adopt sustainability standards. In this article, we focus on the actions taken by Northern and Southern actors to try to achieve cocoa sustainability over the past five years. Based on interviews and observations in Côte d’Ivoire, Ghana and European countries, complemented by document analysis, we map the controversies in the sector. Three issues emerge from our analysis: fair remuneration for producers, child labour and deforestation. We note differences of views between the actors of the North and the South, especially around the question of the fair remuneration of small producers. Emerging concerns are the single ingredient labels and the European regulations on zero imported deforestation and human rights due diligence. </p>
