Though I'm happy the #LPC won a minority under Mark Carney they are at best a centrist party. The only really good news about this election is that I truly believe, of all the political leaders, Mark Carney is by far the best person to tackle Trump and his economic fallout.

Meanwhile, I congratulate @mark-carney.bsky.social on his much deserved win. While four seats shy of a majority, taking the #LPC from a near certain loss to the #CPC as of January to this point is one heck of a feat! And the latest results show Poilievre may just lose his own seat! #cdnpoli #elxn45

"So there we have it. Carney's conundrum. The only way to buy him as a change agent is to accept one of two things, neither of which has much evidence in favour of it — that he is spectacularly competent, or that he's just a pretty normal guy learning the ropes in a new job, and that job just happens to be leading a thoroughly broken party that could have saved itself, but didn't."

@kevinrns Now, w/o the hateful spammer ... :)

Yes, I think that a lot of good has come from the last few years of the #LPC / #NDP working together. Unfortunately, despite that he is a good leader and advocate, I don't think Jagmeet will be the federal NDP leader by August. The NDP are going to be, wrongly, wiped out in this election. And someone is going to have to take the blame for that.
None of which should diminish the positive legacy that Jagmeet has left on the country.

In case you're wondering how the provincial and federal versions of Canadian political parties “line up" together, you can get a good start by seeing who the Premiers of each province endorse, or don't.

Progressive Conservative leaders Doug Ford (ON) and Nova Tim Houston (NS) look to be pretty steadfast -- Poillievre-averse. 😂

Alberta Wildrose Premier Smith and Sask Party Scott Moe are full Poillievre.

Québec's CAQ Premier Legault has not endorsed anyone specifically. (CBC ca.news.yahoo.com/quebec-premi)

New Brunswick and Newfoundland & Labrador have Liberal Premier, presumably in line with Carney's Liberals, but not necessarily.

And that leaves PEI: Their Progressive Conservative Premier resigned a couple months ago, and their new one is.. well, preoccupied. So no endorsements forthcoming for anyone!

If you made it this far down then welcome to the rabbit hole I just dug myself. How do we get out of here??
